Call him Glenn. Glenn is clever and oh so quick and never replies damned if I know. Glenn indeed appears to know everything and does not shy away from telling you whatever he thinks you want to know at a speed so dazzling it makes the brain spin.
Great article: My 10th graders and I spent pretty much all yesterday playing around with Glenn. All year I’ve been hammering into them the importance of specificity when they write: specific details, specific quotations, specific events, etc...They picked up on what you did right away. Glenn does not back up what he says. We asked him to analyze the grimdark tendencies in Shakespeare film adaptations. He did so. At a glance, it was totally accurate. At a second glance, not once did he refer to a specific frame or sound or acting performance from any movie to back up any of the assertions he was making. Reading this, it struck me that it’s probably because, for all his sophistication, Glenn can’t actually watch movies.

Thank you so much Brian. Such an interesting exercise with your students. They are lucky to have you as a teacher!
My bad: Bryan. apologies
Lovely piece. At least Glenn didn’t declare his love for you
Some things are best left to the imagination. If Glenn had one!
